In TurboTax Premier Desktop, I am able to report Social Security and pension distributions by following these steps:
James, THX for the prompt reply and yes, have already used the work around by entering SSA Form 1099-R data by going directly to each 1099 form.
The current issue with this release of TurboTax for desktop is checking all entered data USING the EasyStep tools and that associated with "Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)" which is 'non functional'
Thus asking when is Intuit going to release TurboTax including this functionalty?
Regards,
Paul
This has been updated and you should be able to complete your forms now. Please update if you have more questions and thank you for letting us know.
Hello, the last update for desktop MAC does not include the fix for ssa1099 to enter data (forms or interview). It shows the data from last year, but doesn't allow update for current year data.
Please advice. Thanks!
If you are unable to enter your SSA-1099 in the interview mode, as a workaround you can go to forms mode and search for SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. There is not a form named SSA-1099 in the forms mode, but the Social security benefits worksheet will allow you to enter all of the data from your SSA-1099 at the top of the worksheet. It will then correctly transfer to your form 1040.
