The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act severely restricted the use of this deduction. These are the only people who are allowed to take unreimbursed employee expenses on their federal return:
If you entered expenses, but did not indicate that you qualify for one of these exceptions, TurboTax will not carry the amount to Schedule 1, line 11.
You may be able to deduct these expenses on your state return, if your state allows the deduction.

Thanks. That is good to know. However, the software should include this information instead of asking me to fill in all these data only to not utilize it and then present incorrect information on the worksheets. =/
