Filing joint married-My husband received a 1099-R & SSA-1099, but it asks if I received these, where do I indicate it's y husband who did?

When you enter your 1099-R on the "Tell Us Which 1099-R You Have" screen you should be able to select whom the form belongs to (see picture). When entering the SSA-1099 you will enter the income in the row under your husband's name (see picture).

To enter the 1099-R:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
  2. Click "Take Me To My Return"
  3.  Click "Federal" from the left side of your screen
  4. Scroll down to “Retirement Plans and Social Security” and click “Show more
  5. Scroll down and click "Start" next to "IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
  6. Answer "Yes" to the question "Did You Have Any of These Types of Income?"
  7. Click "I'll Type it Myself"
  8. Choose "Form 1099-R, Withdrawal of Money from 401(k) Retirement Plans, Pensions, IRAs, etc." and select your husband's name.
  9. Click "Continue" and enter the information from your 1099-R

 

To enter SSA-1099:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
  2. Click "Take Me To My Return"
  3. Click "Federal" from the left side of your screen
  4. Scroll down to “Retirement Plans and Social Security” and click on “Show more
  5. Scroll down and click "Start" next to "Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)
  6. Answer “Yes” to “Did you receive any Social Security benefits?
  7. Select “Social Security benefits (Form SSA-1099)” and enter the amounts under your husband's name.
