Downloading a 1099-B from my broker shows non-covered lots assigned an (incorrect) cost basis. Should I simply correct the cost basis on the TurboTax 1099-B screen?

Yes, enter your cost or adjusted cost basis for the stock on the 1099-B screen(s). Keep the proof with your at-home tax records.

But it's asking for a specific line item then on the next page is a section to put in 'corrected' cost basis. Yet it seems doing that does nothing.
