Does my 1099-R in Box 5 mean its a Roth contrib. or an ins. premium? I'm in a Thrift Savings Plan. In the past 4 yrs, I've never used Box 5 in my Turbo Tax filings.

What is the code (or codes) in box 7 of the Form 1099-R provided by the payer?
Is the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box marked?

If you are doing the TSP it is Roth contribution in box 5.

The medical premium you pay would be on the CSA-1099R not the TSP.
