Does anyone know how to check the timeline on if you are receiving an updated refund because of unemployment benefits not being counted as income up to the threshold?

I filed my taxes prior to the relief bill that set the $10,200 threshold for unemployment benefits not having to count as income. They said it would get reviewed and updated refunds should go out starting in May. I haven't received anything or heard anything but several people I know have already received their payments. Is there a way to check if mine is in a queue or being reviewed?

No you cannot check to see when the extra refund for unemployment is coming.

The IRS began to send out the additional refund checks for tax withheld from unemployment in May.   If you are eligible for the extra refund for federal tax that was withheld from your unemployment the IRS will be sending you an additional refund sometime during the next several months.  TurboTax cannot track or predict when it will be sent.  The IRS has not provided a way for you to track it, so all you can do is wait for the refund to arrive.

You *might* need to amend your state return for unemployment that was taxed by your state.
