IF the line numbers/boxes are numbered differently, then you are likely in the wrong form.
RRB sends out two possible forms...or both depending on the circumstances.
1) An RRB-1099 that goes in at the same area you enter as Social Security SSA-1099 forms (when you go in there is a checkbox to indicate it's an RRB, and not an SSA)
or
2) An RRB-1099-R that goes in where you enter other 1099-R forms.
Two different menu selection lines on the Wages&Income page...don't confuse one form for the other...the presence. or absence, of that final -R is critical.
Thank you for the answer, but I've been doing TurboTax for at least the last 25 years. Been doing the 1099's for the last 20 years. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked. The lines do not agree.
Doing some research, I find this has happened in the past (and probably this year), when companies, just use the "old" version of the 1099, and only change the date on the top. The solution given was to just put it in the correct line.
