On a standard IRS Form 1099-B box 2 has checkboxes, not a letter or any other entry. Apparently Janus is using a nonstandard format for the 1099-B. My guess is that the L means long-term, because two of the checkboxes in box 2 of the standard Form 1099-B are Short-term and Long-term. See if there's an explanation of the codes anywhere on the Janus statement, or you might want to call and ask them to confirm that it means long-term. There is no place to enter the L in TurboTax because it is not a standard entry on Form 1099-B.
