Do I need to add Jr to the last name in 1099 Last name field?

One of my deckhands is a Ed Bob Jr.  Do I need to add the Jr. surname to the last name field on a 1099 form?

I don't think you have to, because the IRS will match based on the main part of the name and the SSN.  But you can -- however, if you do, don't use a comma.  "Ed Bob Jr" not Ed Bob, Jr".
