You do NOT enter a dependent's Social Security benefits on your tax return.

If you look at the SSA-1099 that the dependent received it will have their Social Security number in box 2 of the form.

If the dependent does not have any other income they do not report the benefits received on a tax return.

Ssa-1099 what is it

An SSA-1099 is a tax form the Social Security Administration mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. It shows the total amount of benefits such individuals received from Social Security in the previous year so they know how much Social Security income to report to IRS on their tax return.  We are not aware of any SSA-1099 form issued by MI.
