Confused about 1099-DIV and Capital Gains

I received a 1099-DIV for capital gains on an investment fund. When filing a 1099-DIV I am asked for the numbers on line 1a Total Ordinary Dividends and 1b Qualified Dividends. The 1099-DIV I received does not have either of these line numbers or descriptions. The only info on the 1099-DIV I received is 2a Total Capital Gain Distr and 2b Unrecap Sec 1250 gain.

What am I missing here? Thanks

Try putting zeros in lines 1a and 1b of the Form 1099-DIV in TurboTax if your form does not have a value in those lines.

Where do I report the "TOTAL Capital Gains" from box 2a shown on the 1099-DIV I received?

Confused about 1099-DIV and Capital Gains

You only enter it from the 1099Div box 2a.    That goes to Schedule D line 13.

Schedule D line 13 Capital Gains comes from 1099Div box 2a.  See 1099 Dividend box 2a
