You can file an amended return in TurboTax if you filed your original return with us.

You need to mail in your amended return (form 1040-X) with a copy of your original return, so make sure you print out a copy of your original return before you start the amend return process.

To do so, log into your TurboTax program and look for "Your Tax Return & Documents" on your home page. Click on the "Show" option and select the year you want to amend, where you will see an option to "Amend(change)" the return for that year. Just follow the instructions to start the amend process.

If you received an corrected form 1099-R, W-2, or other corrected tax statement, access those entries in your program and make the changes necessary. Your will see a refund amount appear on top of your screen which will be the additional amount you will receive back, or additional amount due if applicable.

When you are done, print out the amended return, sign and mail it, per the instructions that will be included.
