You will not be able to use the Free Edition to prepare your tax return if your income is reported on a 1099Misc, if that is what you are asking about. (There are a LOT of kinds of 1099's, so 1099Misc is just my educated guess). If your income comes from self-employment, then you need a higher paid version of the software so that you can prepare a schedule C. Any of the desktop versions will let you do that; or if you want to use an online program, use Self-Employed.
There is one free version that you might be able to use. It will not be available until January. The amounts for the income limits I am giving are for 2016--they might be changed a little for 2017:
You cannot enter a 1099Misc when you are using the Free Edition. If you qualify, there is another free software program available from TurboTax which will allow you to enter self-employment income reported on a 1099Misc.
Try the Freedom Edition:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom
You qualify if your income was $33,000 or less, or $64,000 or less if active duty military, or if you qualify for Earned Income Credit
