Can i enter in 2020 tax info to compare it with what my accountant did?

I would like to do this before doing my 2021 taxes as I am deciding if the accountant is worth the extra money or not.

Please be aware that the 2020 TurboTax software is not online and you would have to purchase the 2020 TurboTax software to use it.

But you can enter your 2021 information in TurboTax Online and preview Form 1040 and compare it since you can start the return for free and only pay when you file.

To preview Form 1040:

1. Click on "Tax Tools" in the left menu
2. Click "Tools"
3. Click "View Tax Summary" in the Tool Center window
4. Click on "Preview my 1040" on the left

It will not help you to use the current online software to compare with a 2020 return.   Online is only for 2021 returns and the tax laws and forms are different for 2021.   If you enter 2020 income information into 2021 it will be all wrong.    As already mentioned, if you want to compare the results of using TurboTax for a 2020 return, you would need to purchase and download the desktop software for 2020 to a full PC or Mac.

 If you need to prepare a return for 2018, 2019 or 2020 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)
