Can I enter a second SSA-1099 into the DIY version of TurboTax online?

TurboTax Online only provides one entry screen per person for Social Security benefits so you will have to add them before entering in TurboTax.
 

1. Look at the numbered boxes on both forms (e.g., Box 5 for Net Benefits, Box 6 for Federal Tax Withheld).
2. Add the value from Box 5 on the first form to the value from Box 5 on the second form.
3. Put that single combined total into the corresponding box in TurboTax.

If you have more than one SSA-1099 with just your Social Security number in box 2, then add the amounts in box 5 together and enter the result on the TurboTax form.

If you are filing as Married Filing Jointly and you both received a SSA-1099 then you enter the box 5 amounts under each name.

To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
