Can I claim 0 (zero) on my withholding to receive more on my pay check? Currently I claim one.
Zero will cause you to receive less in your paycheck- not more. The lower the allowances, the more tax they withhold.
If you need more take home pay, go up to 2. Just make sure you don't underwithhold to the point that you then owe on your 2017 tax return.
