Can I change my payment method from monthly checks to auto bank withdrawals after I already filed and set up payments by check?
I already filed and I set up month payments by check. The IRS sent me a letter confirming the arrangement but I do not want to pay the fee they are charging for the service. When I signed up for it I thought Turbo Tax showed it would be $70. When I got the letter from IRS it showed the fee to be over $200! I would like to know if I can change me payment method from monthly checks to auto bank withdrawals since there is no fee to pay that way.

You can use the Online Payment Agreement tool to make the following changes:
- Change your monthly payment amount
- Change your monthly payment due date
- Convert an existing agreement to a direct debit agreement
- Reinstate after default
You must contact us to make a change to an existing plan that makes payments through direct debit.
