Why is the taxable amount greater than gross distribution on 1099-R on State Farm life insurance company
Box 1 cannot be less than box 2a on a correctly prepared Form 1099-R. If the Form 1099-R provided by the payer has a box 1 amount that is less than the box 2 amount, contact State Farm to obtain a corrected Form 1099-R.
