What if I received an insurance dividend but no 1099-DVT?
An insurance dividend is not a real dividend. It is a kind of profit sharing which actually reduces the cost of your insurance. As the insurance cost is not tax deductible, the insurance dividend is not taxable and is not reported on your tax return.
