403b Question

My company had a 403b plan that I never contributed to but the company did. I left the job in August 2024. My W2 form Box 13 is blank. Can this be right? Or should I contact my previous employer?

Contact the employer.

403b Question

Whether or not the W-2 is correct depends on the plan year for which the employer contributions you mentioned were made.  If no employee or employer contributions were made to your 403(b) account for the plan year ending in 2024, box 13 Retirement plan should not be marked on your W-2.

403b Question

Good point, but it gets even more complicated. I worked there from April 2023 to August 2024. Never made a contribution but there’s over $3,500 in my account. W2 Box 13 for both  2023 and 2024 is blank. So I don’t think it can be an issue around plan year.
