My husband passed away at 64 in 2016. I have been receiving his General Motors pension since then. I get a monthly income from his pension. I also receive a 1099 R. This year they asked his year of birth and when I enter it. The program is telling me I need to calculate an RMAD. This is not an inherent IRA. It is a pension received monthly. Please advise. This has never happened before

Delete the 1099-R and enter it again. When you are asked how much is RMD say all.
But none of it is subject to RMAD. This is not an IRA it is a Monthly Pension from his job at General Motors so instead of all should I not be entering none of it
If he is age 70 1/2 or older then all of the pension income reported on the Form 1099-R is an RMD.
