1040 line 54 does NOT agree with the sum of Box 2 on W-2 and Box 4 on 1099-R. There is no other Fed tax 'withheld' anywhere. Why do they not agree?

TT is $144 higher.  No other taxes withheld but the W-2 and 1099-R.  Been using TT for years and this never happened.

I assume that you mean Form 1040 line 64.

In addition to income tax withholding, line 64 will also include credit for Additional Medicare Tax withholding from Form 8959 line 24.
