Why when I withdraw IRA Roth contribution + earnings, does the error check keep failing because it tells me I should only withdraw the contribution amount?

the error check in turbotax keeps reporting an error when i report a withdrawal of IRA Roth contribution greater than the contribution amount? The instructions say to withdraw contribution plus its earnings. Why isn't there a way to indicate that this amount is correct and stop the application for reporting this as an error?

Enter the unadjusted amount returned, not the adjusted amount distributed.  The amount you enter as the amount returned must not include the earnings.

Are you entering this in the IRA contribution interview or do you have a 1099-R?

What code in box 7 on the 1099-R?
\What is in box 2a?
