Why do i get a w2 every year from con ed for around 600 dollars i have been retired for 20 years and get a 1099r what is this w2 for ? is it from my life insurance???
I did not work at all.
It is very likely an employee benefit that is taxable and that is why the W-2 is issued.
So perhaps you have life insurance paid by Con Ed that is greater than $50,000 of coverage.
I would go to Con Ed's web site for retiree's or call them and ask them why you are getting the W-2.
