Try deleting the zip code and re-entering just the first 5 digits.

If that doesn't work, check the zip code for the city and state listed on the form. If the USPS gives you a different zip code, use that one.

Click here to verify the zip code with the USPS.

I talked with a support rep. We verified the zip code as accurate, but the program will not accept.  Does TurboTax have a bug?

Check the 2-letter state code for that zip code.   Make sure the city and state match up to the zip code.  This error happens when the state code doesn't match what is on file with the IRS.  TurboTax follows the IRS for acceptable zip codes.  If the state code does not match the correct state, you will get an e-filing error.   Correcting the state code is usually the fix.

I have experienced this also.  It was for zip code 63043 (Edward Jones).  I have checked it via the USPS site, and it said it couldn't find the address.   I took another recommendation on here and entered the corporate headquarters for Edward Jones address in St. Louis, which was accepted.

I have this same issue with a 1099-R.  I have checked the USPS address to verify the zip code is correct.  I have deleted and reentered the data and still Turbo Tax is not accepting it.  It must be a glitch in Turbo Tax.

I have seen other replies stating to make sure the correct State abbreviation is used,  Turbo Tax auto fills the state with the full state name, i.e. South Dakota, does not allow one to key in SD.

It's possible the IRS records don't match for this Payer.  In your 1099-R entry, try using the Federal ID Number instead of the State ID Number in Box 15.  Also check for any special characters in the Address entry (such as St. Mary rather than St Mary), commas, or number signs.
