No change in refund when I enter full 6500 in IRA contributions.  All data states I should be eligible: over 50, no pension/retirement plan at work; MAGI 83K.  How come?

Contributions to a ROTH IRA are not deductible and have no effect on your refund. Non-Deductible contributions to a Traditional IRA are not deductible and have no effect on your refund. Only a deductible contribution to a  Traditional IRA, identified to be for 2016 will have any effect on your refund.
