Solved

My 6 year old daughter receives survivor's benefits. I received a SSA-1099 in her name. Do I need to report this on my tax return? or rather does she need to file?

will she need to file a return?

No. You won't need to include her benefits on your tax return. She would include them on her own tax return, if she was required to file. If that's her only income, then she's not required to.
