Solved

I received 2 different forms for my HSA: a 5498SA and 1099SA, but the system only had me enter the 1099, not the 5498. Do I need to add them both?

Form 1099-SA reports distributions from your HSA. You have to enter this form in your tax return. You also have to enter the amount of distributions used for qualified medical expenses.

Form 5498-SA reports your (and your employer's) contributions to your HSA. You do not need to enter this form on your tax return as the contributions are already reported on your form W-2 in box 12 code W.

In TurboTax Online, to enter your form 1099-SA, follow these steps:

  1. Open your tax return
  2. Click on the Search button (magnifying glass icon) on the top right of your screen
  3. In the Search box, enter 1099-SA and click on the magnifying glass icon
  4. In the search result box, click on Jump to form 1099-SA
  5. TurboTax will take you directly to the page where you can start entering your form 1099-SA.
