You will need to Amend your tax return to add this form.

First you will need to wait and see if your return is Accepted or Rejected by the IRS. If the return is Rejected you can go back in and fix the mistake without amending. If the return is Accepted you will need to WAIT until you receive your refund and then follow the Amend instructions. From there you can add your 1099-R.

  1. Select "Federal" on the left panel
  2. Select the "Income & Expenses" sub-tab at the top of the screen
  3. Select See all income
  4. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security 1099-R, IRAs, 401(k), early withdrawals
  5. Click Start/Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
