Solved

I converted $5500 that I deposited in my Trad IRA for 2016 to a Roth IRA in January 2017. Do I enter that in my 2016 taxes, or my taxes for 2017? Will I get a 1099-R?

You would report that on your 2017 return since the conversion happened in 2017. You will get a 1099-R that shows the conversion, you will report that on your 2017 return.
