Question

How to remove a state on form 1099-r box 15? I live in Washington and its not on the list and hit Virginia by mistake. r

Just navigate back to the Wages&Income section in the Federal tax return area, and go into the Retirement section to edit that 1099-R.    Then, since you are a WA resident, remove all values in boxes 15,16,17....i.e entirely blank

I did that but Virginia stayed as the state and couldn't get out of it. I finally trashed the whole entry and re-entered it. That worked.
