Question

How do I resolve "Not Eligibles for E-filing" on my account? It does not give me the option to look at the information in order to resolve it.

It says this: All of the following lines of Form 1040 have a zero value: Line 9 - Total Income Line 11 - Adjusted gross income Line 16 - Tax Line 18 - Total Tax Before Credits and Other Taxes Line 21 - Total credits Line 24 - Total Tax Line 33 - Total payments Line 2a - Tax-Exempt Interest Line 3a - Qualified Dividends Line 4a - IRA Distributions Line 5a - Pensions And Annuities Line 6a- Social Security Benefits All of my income is foreign and I am living overseas with full deductions. I did put in income as well. Other than that though, Turbotax is not even asking me for any of this.

If you have $0 AGI, and are filing a $0 return, you would need to print and mail your return.  You can attempt to add $1 in interest income and then try to resubmit.  This would give you a number on line 2a which should allow you to get past that transmission error. If it does not, then you would need to print and mail the return.

To add the interest select the following:

  1. Federal
  2. Income
  3. Interest on 1099-INT
  4. Enter $1 in box 8.
