Question

How do I report the 2nd year of my COVID-19 distribution in the 2021Turbotax version? It doesn't seem to automatically report the 1/3 amount of income reported in 2020.

For example, total withdrawal was 15k. Reported $5k of income in 2020. How do I report the $5k for 2021 (year 2) with Turotax?

If you used TT last year and transferred the prior year info then that should  be transferred automatically.

The 8915 section of the Retirement area is not yet functional ... return to that section sometime in Mid March...

Yes I used TT for 2020. I downloaded the 2021 version the other day and transferred but appears not to report the 2nd year automatically.

Until that section of the program is functional you may not see the 2nd year information ... make a note to return later in March ...  the 8915-F is not even on the list yet.

most likely, this will be part of the IRAs section interview for 2021. Watch for it.

If you are asked if you took a distribution from an IRA, say YES.

@fanfare

Right now the 8915 is listed as unsupported for efiling ...  and TT doesn't allow PDF attachments at this time ... time will tell on how TT will handle this issue
