DFAS Retirement 1099-R is entered as any other 1099-R. However, there will be specific questions referring to military retirement income. In TurboTax Online, at the screen Who is this form from?, select Financial Institution or other provider (1099-R) . Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income. Scroll down to Retirement Plans Social Security. Click the down arrow to the right. Click Start / Revisit to the right of IRA 401K Pension Plan Withdrawals. At the screen Let's find your account, select Enter a different way. At the screen How do you want to add your docs?, enter Type it in myself. At the screen Who is this form from?, select Financial Institution or other provider (1099-R). Click Continue. In TurboTax Online, at the screen Who is this form from?, select Financial Institution or other provider (1099-R) .

Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
