Form 1099-R for Pension

What has changed for pension plan TurboTax input?

Last year I had no problems entering the 1099-R for my wife's pension plan. She gets regular monthly distributions (cash). We withhold some for Federal Taxes. (Boxes 1, 2a, and 4 on the form). Box 7 is normal distribution. IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box is not checked.

This is a pension, so I checked this as a Qualified plan. This was not from a 403(b) plan. I don't remember being notified about an RMD (is that required for a pension plan?) so I entered zero.

Turbotax does not give me the option to say we just got the distribution as cash. We did not do a rollover or a total cash distribution.

Help. I don't know how to proceed.

Is your spouse over 73?   If it is asking if the pension was an RMD, just say it was all an RMD.   Monthly pension fulfills the requirements for RMD.
