Do we put all 5 1099R forms together when filing? We tried doing it and the next step comes up to list our bank. Three are pensions and two are annuties?

You should enter each Form 1099-R on its own without combining the information.

After entering each form there will be a series of follow-up questions that you will need to answer to be sure that the proper tax treatment is applied to that income.

If you have already entered them as a combined form, you should delete your entry and start that section again.

Use these steps to go to that section of your return:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “1099-R” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to 1099-R”
  • Click on the blue “Jump to 1099-R” link
