Can I claim my homeless parsnts on my taxes without their social security numbers?

No, you cannot claim any dependent on your tax return without the dependent’s Social Security number.

If you had their SSN, you would need to go through the dependent section of your return to be sure that you meet the qualifications to claim them. See the following TurboTax article for more information.

So by that logic, a person living in the streets with a social security number isn't considered homeless? Is that true? And why wouldn't the daily practice of providing food, shelter, clothing and personal hygiene products to a down and out American that even though reaching the lofty heights of possessing a social security number/card are by all other logical definitions and standards, homeless. Is this so the money I don't get to save can go to some a$$hole in the Ukraine or some illegal Mexicans sponging off us here in the states?
