I am a National Guard soldier on Active Duty due to a deployment. Do I select Guard or Active in my personal info page? 12/31/16 I was deployed on active duty

When I select Active Duty, it says that I was on AD all year, but I was only AD for part of 2016

You can select either, although "National Guard" would be the technically correct answer.

Your choice will not affect your taxes. The program will ask the same relevant military questions, just in a different order.

The important one is "Did you serve in a combat zone or other hazardous area in 2016?" The next most important input is your DFAS W-2.
