My Idaho return does not have a way to exempt my military income
If Idaho is listed as your Home of Record on your Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), you will file as an Idaho resident. Active duty military income earned outside of Idaho by an Idaho resident is not subject to Idaho income tax.
The full-time duty must be continuous and uninterrupted for 120 consecutive days or more.
If you meet this requirement, as you work through the state return, you will come across a page asking for your Active Duty Military Pay. Enter the amount of your Idaho income from Box 16 of your active duty military W-2. It will then be exempt from Idaho tax.
