If i am active duty military with home record and tax filing is under NV, why do i owe CA tax? I am currently stationed in SD, CA. My LES block 15 indicates NV.

I have tried filing under NV for my state tax but it keeps reverting back to CA.

Since you are active duty military, in the My Info section of the program you should have selected Nevada as your resident state.  When asked if you lived in or made money in any other states you should have answered NO.

If your mailing address is in California, that does not mean that you have to file a CA state tax return since you are military.

...and when you PCS from state-to-state, you do not indicate your move in the My Info section  (or the Personal Info section if using Desktop software).

For military personnel, you don't indicate a "move" in that section of the software , when you PCS, since your State of Legal Residence (SLR) remains in your original HOR state  (unless you legally change that SLR state with the military by filing a form DD2058 , which a NV military person would rarely do).  Indicating a "move" in that section of the software might set your resident/domicile state(s) improperly.
