I’m in the military

If you are part of the military and your "Home of Record" state is Tennessee, then you would report your income in Tennessee as a full year resident. 

 

Generally, you only need to file a return in your state of residency. 

 

However, some states require that you file a return in the state you reside in while stationed away from your "resident state" if you received income in addition to your military pay.

 

Please see the attached chart and click on the applicable link to determine if you are subject to filing taxes in another state besides your state of residence.
