if your Home of Record is Virginia, then you need to file a Virginia state return. If you are stationed in New Mexico and have no other income other than your military pay, then you do not to file a New Mexico return

I filled Virginia taxes and was accepted on 2/8/2024. They have not pulled my payment and put banking stuff into the system Federal pulled there on Monday at 1 AM .
