Can a military member be a dependent?

I filed my own taxes this year and I was also a member of the military up until last February. I think I selected that I could be claimed as a dependent on my tax return but I heard a military member can’t be claimed as a dependent. So will I still receive a stimulus check or will my parent receive the $500?
