I rent and work from home. Can I write of part of my rent and PG&E?

UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019

 

Yes & No.

Yes, as long as you are self-employed and conduct your business from your home office.

No, if you are an employee.  Employee expenses (including a home office) are no longer deductible for tax years 2018-2025.
