Solved

I bought a commercial mower in August of 2017 new. Put a few hours on it on my personal lawn that year. I've used it 90 % business this year. Can o write it off for 2018?

Yes, you can. Since this was a personal item in 2017 and you changed it to 90% business use in 2018, you can enter it as an asset or an expense, depending on how much the mower cost.
