so the sale was lets say 1000.00 dallors and the net check was 980.00 dallors so the 20.00 dallor charge was fees...so do i enter the 20.00 dallors in 1e box and do i enter the gross in the other..

Are you preparing Form 1099-B or are you trying to enter a Form 1099-B into TurboTax?

Did you receive a 1099-B in the mail from the broker? If you did receive a 1099-B, did the broker fill out the box 1e or is box 1e blank? Box 1e cost or other basis is not the fee you were charged when you made the sale. If box 1e is blank, you should contact the broker to find out what the cost basis is for the sale. You should enter the 1099-B based on what is reported to you from the broker.

Yes, you need to enter 1099-B box 1e into TurboTax so that it gets reported on your tax return.
