Question

Can we deduct our yearly owners' operating/maintenance fee expenses for a 1 week time share if we rented out the week in 2017?

We own a total of 3 weeks of time shares through the same company but in 3 different locations. In 2017 we rented out 1 week from a single location. We received a 1099-MISC for the rental income. Can we deduct our 2017 expenses for that single week, including operating and/or maintenance fees?

No.

Rental income is not taxable if there was less than 14 days of rental income. Since your rental income is not taxable, your timeshare fees are not deductible.
