Rental income in Ohio is $300 less per month than mortgage and hoa fees combined so I'm at a loss.  Do I still need to file in Ohio since I live in Florida?

You don't mention your federal schedule E. You must file rental income or loss schedule E as part of your federal filing. If schedule E shows a profit, you will have to file an Ohio return (and maybe even a City Income tax form). If schedule E shows a loss, you do not have to file an OH return.

No, you will not have to file an OH nonresident state income tax return if you have net rental losses from OH-sourced rental property.
