Will self employed version handle rental income and stock gains/losses,, right now use home version
Are you used to using the desktop software (CD/download)?
The online Self-Employed version (which used to be called Home and Business) can handle all the things you mentioned. It is the highest level edition, and is equivalent to the desktop Home and Business in terms of the forms it can prepare.
In contrast to the desktop Home and Business, however, the online Self-Employed version does not have Forms Mode for direct viewing/editing of forms, and does not include a state program. A state return in an online edition is an additional 36.99.
The online version can only prepare 1 Federal return per account per year. The desktop version can prepare multiple Federal returns with 5 free Federal efiles.
