Why am I being asked to send 8453 along with 8949 attached via postal mail after e-file. I see the forms 8949 in the pdf downloaded return so doesnt that mean its sent?

in addition when preparing the return s/w did ask me to attach additional documentation which I did. How do I find out if that was sent along with e-file

you have to print your return.

If the e-Filed 8949 says " see attached summary" you have not supplied the detail required by IRS and you have to mail that in.

that's "see attached' or "see attached detail"

The e-Filed 8949 is the summary 8949 if it lists no details..

yes it does say see attached summary in 8949 , but Turbotax did ask me to upload to the S/W before e-filing. so how do I find out if that was that e-filed ?

this is an option that some filers are reporting.

TurboTax has not publicized it and TurboTax "experts" are clueless as to whether it really works.

So you can take your chances and not mail anything.

You can't examine what TurboTax did or did not send to the IRS.

Why would it not work, if TurboTax offers it?
